Development and Education

General information and a topic directory for families and educators on communication, play, learning, and educational environments.

Communication and language

Communication is more than speech. This section will introduce different forms of communication, reciprocal interaction, and communication-friendly environments through source-based content. For individualized communication support, it is important to work with professionals who know the child.

Play and social interaction

Topics will include following the child's interests, building shared attention, play options, and participation in social settings. The guides will not assume a single way to play; they will reflect different preferences and forms of participation.

School and learning environments

  • Transitions to school, classroom routines, and environmental adjustments
  • Information-sharing among families, schools, and support teams
  • General questions for discussing learning goals and progress
  • Accessibility and participation in educational settings
